Health Care

Due to its good literate population, the villagers are health conscious. There is a PHC/Dispensary within the village and an Anganwadi centre as well. The specialized hospital facility is also available at district headquarter. For other medical needs, people travel to either the Shopian Sub District Hospital, Pulwama District Hospital, Anantnag District Hospital or other hospitals in Srinagar.

The Litter village is well placed in educational context. There are more than five private schools which are functional in this place along with a good number of government-run schools, including an impressive Boys Higher Secondary School. Many government offices are functional in the village and some of the prominent ones are zonal offices of the Animal Husbandry Department, three banks namely Jammu and Kashmir Bank (JKB), Elaquai Dehati Bank (EDB) and the State Cooperative Bank along with three food depots of the Consumer and Public Distribution Department (CAPD). There are as many as eight Anganwadi centres in the village. There is also an All India Handicraft Centre which is being run in the village by the government of India in order to train the village girls in carpet weaving.
