Naranag Tourist Village
Showcasing the heritage tourism potential of the beautiful village of Naranag in northern Kashmir, India
Flora And Fauna

The village and its surrounding land offer rich forested vegetation. A variety of conifers are found here, prime among which are deodar and budlu. Within the village, however, a number of other tree types were seen, common among which were;

     Willow or  Baid {Vir, locally)
    Jungli Doon or Wild Walnut
    BudluorFir
    Chinar
    Kavir
    Kikar etc.

The upper reaches of Narayan Nag also form the habitat of the some wild life. According to local sources, a variety of feline species like snow leopard, wild cats sometimes frequent the village in search of food. Wild bears, squirrels and a range of birds also form the part of fauna of the area in and around Narayan Nag of coniferous trees grow on the upper reaches.
